Sweeney Miller Solicitors have agreed a deal to become official sponsors of one of the regions oldest sporting clubs. The Ashbrooke based solicitors have agreed an initial one year sponsorship deal with Sunderland Rugby Club. The deal will provide the club with much needed financial support as it presses forward with ambitious development plans.
As part of the agreement the Sweeney Miller name and logo will appear on Sunderland’s new jerseys in the forthcoming season as well as on advertising boards around the grounds and in club publications.
The sponsorship deal is a major boost to the club as it seeks promotion into the national leagues, development of its junior ranks and further development of its community schemes.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be joining forces with Sweeney Miller Solicitors to drive the club forward in the next year, which we think will be an exciting time” said Sunderland chairman Paul Geehan.
“I am pleased to see that local businesses are still willing to invest in the local community despite the difficult financial climate. As we are both based in Ashbrooke it is a great fit for all parties and compliments our development as a community club.”
Paul Miller, partner at Sweeney Miller Solicitors, said “We are delighted to be investing in one of Sunderland’s great sporting clubs. After speaking with Paul we were particularly impressed by their youth structure and involvement with local schools. We are pleased that the deal will not only help the first team but will benefit the wider community by increasing participation in rugby.”
“This is the first time we have committed to sponsorship and we are proud to put our name to a club which has been a huge part of the community for a number of years. Hopefully our partnership will help them to achieve their ambitious goals for the first team and community projects.”
