HSE statistics reveal that in 2010/11 the riskiest areas of work are agriculture and construction. There were 34 fatalities in agriculture alone with a further 50 fatalities in construction.
There has been a downward trend in the number of injuries and deaths in both agriculture and construction. However, the HSE report an increase in the number of fatalities in the waste and recycling industry. Perhaps this is due to the growth of waste recycling over current years and a greater number of employees placed at risk.
If you know someone who has been injured whilst working in agriculture, construction or waste recycling during the last three years then please refer them to us for a free consultation. They will probably be entitled to compensation.
