Lindsey joined Sweeney Miller in 2006 and is head of the Civil Litigation team. She has more than 12 years post-qualification experience of dealing with a wide range of civil litigation cases including property and contract related disputes, personal injury, clinical negligence and family law.

Lindsey deals with a wide range of civil and commercial litigation cases for businesses and individuals including:-

Family law – Lindsey advises on all aspects of divorce and separation for married or cohabiting clients, in particular dealing with the financial settlement and the division of marital assets including property, pensions, spousal maintenance, and clean break orders, separation and cohabitation agreements and child contact disputes.

She also handles property ownership disputes arising from cohabitation and relationship breakdown such as Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 applications (TOLATA), Orders for sale and Declarations of Trust.

Employment law – Lindsey regularly advises employers and employees issues and disputes, drafts, negotiates and advises the terms of compromise/settlement agreements. She advises on pursuing and defending all types of employment-related claims including unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal and discrimination claims.

Property Litigation – Advises in disputes involving landlord and tenant matters, including possession proceedings, rent arrears recovery, claims arising from LTA 1954 and claiming or defending deposit protection claims. Lindsey advises also advises in service charge disputes, boundary disputes and dilapidation claims.

Personal Injury – Lindsey handles a wide range of personal injury and medical negligence cases on behalf of injured clients with particular experience of accidents at work, road traffic accidents, public/occupiers liability claims and criminal injuries claims, including long-term domestic abuse. She deals with complex cases involving catastrophic injuries such as head and spinal injuries and has handled large Group Litigation Order cases.

General Litigation and Dispute Resolution – Lindsey also has experience with professional negligence claims, contract disputes, contested lease extensions and debt recovery.
Lindsey understands what the client is looking to achieve from an early stage and supports them through what is a difficult time for them by providing pragmatic, client-focused advice. Her thorough and highly organised litigation skills make her a robust contentious lawyer. Lindsey’s strong negotiation skills coupled with her vast experience and commercial knowledge ensures that she steers her clients towards the most successful and cost-effective solution to resolve their legal issues.
