Role Summary

Sweeney Miller Law are seeking to recruit experienced and motivated Residential Conveyancers / Solicitors to join our growing Property team in both our Sunderland and Newcastle offices.

You will manage your own caseload of residential conveyancing matters, delivering an efficient, high-quality and client-focused service. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a forward-thinking, collaborative environment and who are passionate about providing an excellent home-moving experience for clients.

You will work closely with paralegals and support staff, playing a key role in mentoring and supervising where appropriate, while contributing positively to the continued development of our Property department.

Role Description

  • Managing a full caseload of residential conveyancing files, including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity
    Acting as the main point of contact for clients and providing clear, pragmatic legal advice throughout the transaction
    Liaising with estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors and other third parties
    Reviewing and preparing contract documentation, title reports and completion statements
    Issuing sale contract packs and approving documentation prepared by support staff
    Carrying out and reviewing searches, enquiries and replies
    Preparing and approving transfer deeds, SDLT returns and relevant declarations
    Dealing with exchange and completion matters
    Maintaining accurate records on the firm’s case management system and progressing files in line with agreed milestones
    Supervising and supporting Conveyancing Paralegals where appropriate
    Ensuring files comply with regulatory, lender and internal compliance requirements
    Contributing to team targets, client satisfaction and continuous process improvement

You Will Have

  • Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx), or equivalent experience
    Proven experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently
    Strong technical knowledge of the conveyancing process from start to finish
    Excellent client care and communication skills
    A professional and confident telephone manner
    Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
    Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of written English
    A proactive, team-oriented approach
