The Sweeney Miller team warmly congratulate Steph Rutherford and Niamh Farrell on recently qualifying as solicitors in Sweeney Miller Law’s Residential Conveyancing team.
Steph (pictured left) graduated in 2017 having undertaken her LLB(Hons) and Legal Practice Course at the University of Sunderland. She then joined Sweeney Miller Law in 2018 as a paralegal. From there she commenced her training contract at the firm leading to her qualification as a solicitor in July 2022. Working in the Sunderland Residential Conveyancing department, Steph deals with sales and purchases with a particular focus on auctions.
After graduating from the University of Sunderland and completing her Legal Practice Course, Niamh (pictured right) joined our firm in 2018 as a paralegal. She then completed her training contract, again qualifying as a solicitor in July 2022 in the Residential Conveyancing department based at the firm’s Sunderland office. Niamh deals with a wide range of sales, purchases, re-mortgages, and as part of the firm’s dedicated ‘Buy to Let’ team, she focuses on helping landlords with their conveyancing transactions, including company buy to lets and bridging finance.
Both Steph and Niamh have undergone the firm’s own bespoke inhouse training programme. This has been designed to provide school leavers and graduates with structured, vocational based learning ensuring consistency in service standards, procedures, communication skills, administration, technical expertise, as well as embedding the core values of the firm – ‘the Sweeney Miller Way’.
Commenting on Steph and Niamh’s achievement, Sweeney Miller Law’s Managing Partner, Surbhi Vedhara said:
“The team and I are so incredibly proud of the pair. They each joined as paralegals at around the same time. They then were enrolled on the firm’s bespoke inhouse learning and development programme paving the way to their training contracts and ultimately qualification as solicitors. We look forward to their continued and valued contribution to Sweeney Miller’s high service standards and ongoing growth. As Managing Partner, I also find it extremely rewarding to see Steph and Niamh developing their own team with colleagues who are in a similar position to them when they started out at the firm. Well done!”
