Surbhi splits her time between practising her specialist area of Commercial Property and general supervision and strategic development of the firm (and its people) as a whole. She has extensive experience in all aspects of complex commercial property matters including commercial conveyancing, leases, business sales and acquisitions and investment transactions. Surbhi advises developers, landlords and tenants on a wide range of commercial property, landlord and tenant and general commercial issues. She has over 14 years’ post-qualification commercial property experience and regularly deals with a wide range of matters involving land developments including options, overage and pre-emption agreements. She takes the time to understand the client’s commercial objectives so that they can tailor her advice to their business needs. Surbhi’s natural people skills and ‘can-do’ attitude has ensured that her clients get the right advice and guidance to enable them to make the correct commercial decisions. Having a business background herself, Surbhi understands the client’s needs and challenges from not just a legal aspect, but also from a commerciality point of view. Surbhi is also heavily involved in the residential buy to let sector and is one of the founders of North East Landlords, which is a local not for profit landlord forum representing landlords in the region.
Surbhi joined the firm in 2007 as a trainee solicitor before becoming an Equity Partner in 2013 and ultimately, Managing Partner in 2021.
With a busy work life and a young family, there isn’t a lot of time left to have other interests, but being true to her Sagittarian nature, Surbhi loves to travel and use any opportunity she is able to get to see the world.
