Rebecca Cresswell, Parter and Head of the Sweeney Miller Family Law department will join the 2024 Northern Law Awards (NLA) judging panel for a fourth year.
Rebecca first joined the NLA panel in 2019 to judge the Trainee of the Year and has since reviewed submissions for Team of the Year, Corporate/Commercial, and Team of the Year, Private Client. In her role on the panel, Rebecca will be joined by other prominent figures from the North East’s legal and wider business community.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on the evening of Thursday 27th June at St James’ Park and will be led by host and North East legend, Alfie Joey. Attended by a wide range of lawyers from academia, law firms and in house teams, the Northern Law Awards celebrate the region’s extensive legal talent and industry successes. Judging will take place on Wednesday 22nd May.
Commenting on her appointment to the judging panel, Rebecca said:
“As someone who has worked my way through the legal profession, from trainee, to Chartered Legal Executive, to cross-qualifying as a solicitor to, ultimately, partner, it is always an honour to join the judging panel for the NLA awards. The awards recognise the incredible wealth of talent we have in the region, across the board, from apprentices to partners. It is a great opportunity to spotlight the hard work of my peers and fellow legal professionals, both in the shortlisted firms and individuals, and amongst my fellow judges.
I’d like to wish all of the finalists the very best of luck, and I look forward to celebrating at the awards ceremony in June.”
